This page consolidates cryptocurrency-specific disclosures required or recommended under U.S. consumer-protection law, including FTC guidance on crypto marketing and endorsements. It supplements our Terms of Service, Risk Disclosure, and Privacy Policy.
1. No investment advice; utility framing
MEPR / METTA is designed as a utility token within the Metta Protocol ecosystem. Content on this platform is not investment advice, and no person associated with the Foundation is your financial advisor.
2. No guaranteed returns
We do not promise profits, dividends, APY, price appreciation, or any specific return. Staking rewards are variable and governed by on-chain smart contracts; they may change, pause, or end. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
3. Volatility & total-loss risk
Cryptocurrency prices are highly volatile. You could lose your entire investment. Only participate with funds you can afford to lose.
4. Smart-contract, custody & bridging risk
Smart contracts may contain vulnerabilities. Non-custodial wallets are your responsibility — lost keys mean lost funds. Bridging assets across chains introduces additional counterparty and technical risk.
5. Regulatory & tax risk
Cryptocurrency regulation is evolving. Rules on securities, commodities, consumer protection, tax, and sanctions may change and could retroactively affect availability, transferability, or value. You are responsible for reporting airdrops, rewards, and gains under your local tax law.
6. Sanctions & geo-restrictions
We screen against OFAC and equivalent sanctions lists and block participation from restricted jurisdictions. Attempting to circumvent these controls (e.g. via VPN) is a violation of our Acceptable Use Policy and may be a violation of law.
7. Endorsements & paid promotion
All paid promoters, ambassadors, KOLs, and influencers must disclose their material connection (e.g. "#ad", "#partner", "paid promotion") in a clear and conspicuous manner as required by FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) and the FTC Rule on Consumer Reviews and Testimonials. AI-generated testimonials, fabricated reviews, and undisclosed compensation are prohibited.
8. No market manipulation
Wash trading, spoofing, pump-and-dump groups, and coordinated shilling are prohibited and may violate securities, commodities, and consumer-protection laws.
9. Foundation role
The Metta Protocol Foundation operates the informational portal and contributes to ecosystem development. The Foundation does not control the underlying BNB Smart Chain network, cannot control token market prices, and cannot guarantee any exchange listing or liquidity.
10. Forward-looking statements
Roadmap items, staking parameters, and ecosystem projections are forward-looking and subject to change without notice.
