Some content on MEPR is paid, sponsored, or otherwise incentivized. This page explains the categories of paid content, how they are labeled, and the legal basis for these disclosures.
1. Categories of paid content
- Sidebar & in-feed ads — labeled "Ad" or "Sponsored" on the card.
- KOL and Ambassador posts — labeled "Paid Promotion" or "#ad" by the author, per our Endorsement Guidelines.
- Promoted posts, reels, and stories — labeled "Promoted" when boosted using in-app promotion tools.
- Referral rewards content — see Affiliate & Referral Disclosure.
- Sponsored launchpad or event coverage — labeled "Sponsored" on the article or event page.
2. Regulatory basis
This program follows FTC guidance under 16 CFR Part 255 (Endorsement Guides) and, because $MEPR is a digital asset, Section 17(b) of the U.S. Securities Act, which prohibits publishing paid promotion of a security without disclosing the compensation. Even though $MEPR is offered as a utility token (see Token Classification Statement), we apply Section 17(b)-style disclosure to every paid promotion as a conservative standard.
3. What Promoters must include
Every paid post must display a clear, conspicuous disclosure such as "#ad," "Paid partnership with MEPR," or "I'm compensated by MEPR." Buried, ambiguous, or removable disclosures do not comply.
4. Reporting undisclosed promotion
Report suspected undisclosed paid content to trust@mettaprotocol.app or via the Whistleblower channel.
