$MEPR and the MEPR platform involve significant risk. This page describes material risks of buying, holding, staking, or otherwise transacting in $MEPR or participating in launchpad campaigns. It is not exhaustive. Do not participate unless you can afford to lose all funds you commit.
1. Price volatility & total-loss risk
Digital assets are extremely volatile. The value of $MEPR may drop to zero and remain there. Historical price movement is not a predictor.
2. Liquidity risk
There may be no active secondary market for $MEPR at times, or the market may be thin. You may be unable to sell at any price, or only at a substantial discount.
3. Smart-contract & protocol risk
Smart contracts can contain bugs, be exploited, be paused, or behave unexpectedly. Third-party audits reduce but do not eliminate this risk. Losses from smart-contract exploits may not be recoverable.
4. Staking-specific risk
Staking involves lockup periods during which funds cannot be withdrawn. APY is variable and may reach zero. The staking contract itself is subject to smart-contract risk. Reward tokens may become valueless. See Earnings Disclaimer.
5. Token-transfer tax
$MEPR transfers incur an 11% on-chain transfer tax. This tax reduces the amount received in any transfer, sale, or claim.
6. Regulatory risk
Digital-asset regulation is evolving in the United States and globally. New rules, enforcement actions, court decisions, or agency guidance may restrict, tax, or prohibit $MEPR usage in your jurisdiction, may require MEPR to change features or block users, and may cause the value of $MEPR to decline. See Regulatory Notices.
7. Securities-classification risk
Although $MEPR is offered as a utility token (see Token Classification Statement), a court or regulator could disagree and treat it as a security in one or more jurisdictions. Such a determination could cause exchanges to delist, could restrict transferability, and could subject the issuer to enforcement.
8. Custody & key-management risk
MEPR's non-custodial wallet requires you to safeguard your seed phrase and password. Loss of these credentials means permanent loss of funds. MEPR cannot recover a lost seed phrase.
9. Oracle & price-feed risk
Prices, APY, portfolio values, and USD-equivalents displayed inside MEPR depend on third-party price feeds and oracles that can be wrong, delayed, or manipulated.
10. Chain, bridge & network risk
$MEPR exists on public blockchains. Chain outages, congestion, re-orgs, hard forks, bridge exploits, and RPC provider failures can cause transactions to fail or funds to be temporarily inaccessible.
11. Exchange, custody & counterparty risk
Centralized exchanges holding $MEPR can suspend trading, freeze withdrawals, delist, become insolvent, or be hacked. Assets held at such counterparties are not covered by MEPR.
12. Tax risk
Transactions in $MEPR may be taxable in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for reporting and paying any tax owed. MEPR does not provide tax advice.
13. AML / sanctions / KYC risk
MEPR screens for OFAC and sanctions matches and requires KYC for certain features. Accounts flagged during screening may be suspended, and funds may be frozen pending investigation. See our Law Enforcement Guidelines.
14. Cyber & phishing risk
Attackers routinely target crypto users with phishing, fake support DMs, wallet-drainer sites, and impersonation. MEPR will never DM you asking for your seed phrase or password.
15. Launchpad-project risk
Launchpad projects are independent third parties. MEPR does not guarantee their delivery, tokenomics, custody arrangements, or execution. Launchpad participation carries all of the risks above plus project-specific execution and fraud risk.
16. Team & governance risk
MEPR's roadmap depends on the Foundation team and its contributors. Loss of key personnel, funding shortfalls, governance disputes, or strategic pivots may adversely affect the project.
