MEPR displays some content that is paid for by advertisers, campaign sponsors, or third parties. This policy explains how that content is labeled so readers can always tell what is editorial and what is paid.
1. What we consider native advertising
- Sponsored posts appearing inside the community feed.
- Sidebar ads and in-feed ad units.
- Sponsored community reels and stories.
- Sponsored articles, event coverage, or explainers.
- Any content whose placement or creation was paid for.
2. Required labels
Native advertising units display one of these labels: "Ad," "Sponsored," "Paid Promotion," or "Promoted." The label is placed at the top of the unit before any headline, in text that is at least as readable as the surrounding content.
3. Editorial separation
Advertisers do not control MEPR editorial coverage, moderation decisions, ranking, or which topics we cover. Payment for a native unit does not buy favorable editorial treatment elsewhere on the platform.
4. Restrictions
Native ads may not promise investment returns, imply securities-like claims, target minors, promote prohibited jurisdictions, or violate our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Reporting
Report a native ad that appears unlabeled, deceptive, or noncompliant to trust@mettaprotocol.app.
